It’s been quite a while now hasn’t it? I suppose you could say my life has changed quite a lot in the last year or so and blogging has kind of sat on the back burner for a little while.
Even while I was still trying to blog at times throughout this year, none of it has felt quite right and I’ve slowly come to accept that maybe I’m just not ‘From Europe and beyond’ anymore and that’s okay. The name my blog will eventually take on is a mystery to me at the moment and I’m sure that some of you are going to stop reading now that I’m not super cool and travelling all the time… okay, I’ve never been super cool or travelling all the time!
After a big Summer full of weddings, travels, making new friends, focussing on saving money and indulging in Australian Love Island I am accepting that actually yes, I have changed quite a lot recently.
While I still do love a big night out with my girls every now and again, I mostly just want to spend weekend evenings in my pyjamas and early to bed ready to wake up early enough to have full weekend days and no hangover.
I struggle to buy things without guilt that I probably should have kept that money for something that we might need in the new house… (more on that in a moment).
I am becoming someone that really, really loves a good walk and I’ve actually started going to the gym regularly.
So does this mean the end of From Europe and beyond? In some ways I suppose it does. While the name means so much to me due to instilling me with enough cheek and confidence to contact someone and say ‘hey, I am going to be bloody brilliant for your brand’. But can I really continue to write on a blog that was built for twenty-something, fun and boozy travel when I have to admit that I’ve not actually got that long left of my 20’s and I’m not travelling that much anymore.
My big news of 2018 is that Rich and I are soon to be homeowners and that our completion date for our new home is on the 24th of this month. So, in just over a week I am actually going to be holding the keys to my own house!
I can’t wait to open the door and say ‘MTV, Welcome to my Crib’ to each and every single guest that comes over… (sorry friends and family)!
Our place needs a heck of a lot of work, but I am so excited to speed past all of the sweat, tears and tantrums and see what we have managed to do with the place!
Thank you for sticking around during the times that I disappear off the grid for a little while and I’d love to hear your thoughts on this blog changing direction for the now and name whenever I can come up with the perfect one!
